(Stikkelsbærgrød)
2 lb (1 kg) green gooseberries
About ¾ pint (4-5 dl) water
About 4 oz (100-125 g) sugar
1 ½ tablesp. cornflour
Prepare the fruit, cover with cold water and bring slowly to the boil.
As soon as the berries start to break up, add the sugar, stirring until dissolved, and thicken with the cornflour dissolved in a little water.
Turn into a dish and sprinkle with sugar to prevent a skin forming.
Serve with cream or milk.
